WCG/USA Church Multiplication Ministries

VISION
As God leads, we will live and share the gospel by starting and multiplying new kinds of churches for all kinds of people in all kinds of places.
MISSION
The mission of Church Multiplication Ministries (CMM) is to train and support congregations, pastors and ministry leaders who start new churches.
CORE VALUES
Church multiplication is built upon the following core values:
Spirit Led
Healthy church multiplication must be the work of the Holy Spirit. Church leaders need to constantly seek to discern the will and guidance of the Lord through the Spirit. Church multiplication is not about building organizations but “building up” the body of Christ.
Organic Growth
Church health and growth is a natural process that inevitably leads to multiplication (Genesis 1:28). When the “good seed” of God’s Word is planted in the “good soil” of receptive individuals and communities, growth and multiplication will occur by the work of the Holy Spirit (Mark 4:3-20; 4:26-29).
Church Multiplication Culture
Church multiplication must be intentional and systemic - it needs to be recognized as more than a program to be implemented. Church multiplication should be accepted as a natural result of church health and growth (along with other traditional ministries, i.e. worship, youth, outreach, etc.). Congregations should be expected to reproduce congregations just as ministry leaders should reproduce ministry leaders and disciples should reproduce disciples.
Leadership
Church leaders need to decide that church multiplication will be a major focus of the denominational mission, vision and structure. Church multiplication values need to be acknowledged, accepted and promoted at every level of church leadership. National, regional and district leaders must work in concert to develop comprehensive strategies that will facilitate church multiplication.
STRATEGIES
CMM programs provide the essential elements of three core components of leadership development:
-
Assessment
-
Training
-
Coaching
Assessment
CMM conducts assessment interviews to help ministry leaders clarify their gifts and calling related to starting new churches.
Training
CMM conducts training programs to prepare ministry leaders to start new churches that will start more new churches. CMM also conducts training programs to help already existing congregations learn how to effectively start a new church or partner with a new church.
Coaching
A goal of CMM is to provide a ministry coach for every ministry leader who starts a new church. CMM trains ministry coaches.
